Previously, Demps began in the role of partnership developer before serving as interim director of partnerships. During her time at NC State, she has been instrumental in growing the university’s partnerships. Her efforts have led to the recruitment of 43 corporate partners and helped secure more than $40 million in funding, providing increased opportunities for students and faculty.

“Keisha’s proven record developing partnerships makes her an incredible asset to our leadership team,” said Mark Schmidt, NC State’s associate vice chancellor for partnerships. “Through this expanded role, we are proud that she will continue to strengthen impactful collaborations while advancing NC State’s mission.”

This new opportunity directly aligns with my skillset and passions,” said Demps. “I’m excited to work alongside the team as we grow our partnerships portfolio and position NC State for future success.

In addition to her new role, Demps currently serves on the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) Board of Directors. She continues to contribute through engagement with AURP, UIDP and other national thought leadership forums, where she helps shape best practices for university–industry engagement. Demps earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona.

NC State’s Office of Partnerships is dedicated to fostering strategic collaborations between the university and external stakeholders. The team actively works with 134 corporate, government and nonprofit partners to build mutual value — driving innovation and advancing student and faculty development.
